Am falling in love again..

Yes am falling in love again.. with my little girl. It's been quite a while since I last blogged. With so many things happening in my life now, blogging is the last thing I want to do.
 
Saisha has been growing up and is in her 8th month now, she already makes me and my wife toil and sweat, lose sleep and hair, play nurse, housekeeper, chauffeur but am happy than ever. It would be very fair to say that she made me more gentler than am and is my only joy of life at the moment. They always say, having any child, but especially a daughter, causes a real change in a man that you don’t expect to happen. How true it is. Now, I tend to value life much more than before -Thanks to Saisha !!

Learning to cook

I have very few skills in the kitchen. In fact am a fool when am in the kitchen. I wonder what's the motivation for any good cook - making healthier and tastier food ? Although am getting to learn cooking only for the past two months. Problem with me is, I get bored easily just being there. Making dishes which takes 30 mins or less is what I prefer, but never knew how to speed-up cooking. Am kicking my ass to learn this, with whatever little motivation I have. Seriously, I don't believe I can be good at this.

Now guys, just ignore my murmuring. This is on my path to salvation

Learnt to nuke Chicken

I started getting into kitchen lately as with the current state of my wife, I need to help her for next 10-12 months. This weekend, did an adventure of nuking the chicken in oven. So how did I do it?
~ Preheated my oven to 450 degrees F.
~ After cleaning the chicken under tap water, dry and rub with all spices, salt and other ingredients.
~ Placed the chicken on the Aluminium pan in oven and nuke it for 20 mins.
~ Then left the chicken to rest for 10 mins for heat to redistribute and there you go

So Can I call myself a good cook now ? Don't laugh, need some serious encouragement to improve my cooking skills  ;)

lost in translation

My Wife and I were watching photos of a relative's baby shower (back in India baby shower are done by relatives during the 7th month of pregnancy) and she was explaining me all the customs that were being followed there. I was listening patiently to what she was saying as I have very little idea of it as this function is held for and by the womens. Suddenly my wife turned upto me and asked,"Will you do this for me here". I said I have no idea about it. That's it. ok, may be I hyperbolized a little bit, played it for laughs at the expense of a relative photos. I got death-ray look from my wife - you know what I mean; a kind of look you get when you offend someone, ya the same one !!
Now I knew I should cease and desist and that's exactly what I did. But after sometime, I found her still mad and she said,"At this point of time, you shouldn't even apologize" So I didn't apologize. Well, then later point of time, when we hit the bed, she finally snapped,"You could have at least apologized!".
Oh boy !! Women speaks an strange alien tongue no hard we try, we feel too dumb to learn. Am really  lost in translation here- what I really hears is so different to what she means.

My Contribution to Chennai ;)

When you're living abroad, its not easy to keep in pace with the development of a city like chennai, particularly when some of the suburbs quickly becomes part of the city itself. Anyway I still Managed to build up a beautiful house in Chennai with the good blessings of my in-laws. My Investment was not primarily for the Rental purpose, but for getting my Mother into this city from a decade old house back in Salem. Hope she adapts to her new place sooner.

on Vista atlast

My Wife was complaining a lot about our home laptop for the last three months, the windows xp in it was really hitting the performance of the system, with the aging corrupt files. The laptop was bought around 2004 and So we decided its high time we replace the operating system. We went to Costco and bought the Vista Premium Home package, although we had reservations about vista initially, we made a bet as the product is one year old now.

Luckily our experience, with Vista has been smooth. The installation came with a DVD Rom this time and total installation time was around 1 hour. Remember We went for a clean installation after backing up our key data. At the end of the installation it automatically downloaded the drivers from Microsoft and without hitch everything from sound to all the attached devices worked.

Apart from the gadgets and cool desktop features it offers, we are happy at the end of the day with the performance of the system because thats the primary reason we upgraded.

Changing India

Am just back from my 15 days vacation in India, and yet to get through with the Jet lag. Although Indian Airports and Infrastructure are yet to go a long way, I find India has been fastly redeveloping moving rapidly into the capitalists economy and you can see it everywhere you go.
Delhi greeted us with hot and humid climate along with heavy traffic, Chennai has been cooler this time with good rains in the evening. All in all we enjoyed the trip well, although it was a very short trip to an great country like India.

Hey do you know that men, who took vacation annually live longer by 20% - Believe it says, New York State University. If you have a family connection in a country like India (just like me), plan to take vacation(atleast for 2-3 weeks) every year as it greatly improves your relationships and gives you lot of self confidence. For me its always refreshing to go to India, as it greatly recaptures my childhood. So are you going on a vacation this year?
